Welcome to ACS-SAC 2017-2018!!

The American Chemical Society Student Affiliate Chapter, or ACS-SAC, is an organization where chemistry majors come together to advance their knowledge of chemistry! Not a chemistry major you say? We’ve got you covered. ACS-SAC does NOT discriminate against other majors; in fact, we welcome all majors that are interested in joining! (We currently have a healthy mix of chemistry and chemical engineering majors!)

Okay, so you want to be involved and join the ACS organization, but what do we do, you ask? That is an easy answer. ACS is used as a networking tool for meeting recruiters from companies (jobs are important), we network with other chemistry majors at Texas A&M University to get help with difficult classes such as organic chemistry (grades are important), and we network with several professors from Texas A&M and other Universities (Rice, UT, etc.) to learn more about research and graduate school (research is important). So there you have it: three important reasons why you should join ACS-SAC (and trust me, there are many more reasons than that).

So, we’ve hooked you like a fish (class of 2021!) and you’re just ready to be reeled in now! Your next step to joining ACS-SAC is to email Tucker Folsom, the ACS Communications chair, or any of the other officers to let us know you’re ready to sign-up! We have an annual fee of $20, but if you haven’t quite bought into ACS yet, there is a $15 fee per semester. There is free food and drinks provided at every meeting!!!!! We look forward to seeing you at our meetings!
